Bel Air was founded in 1780, although its Police Department was not established until 1874. The town is located in Harford County, Maryland. It is the county seat of Harford County as well as a hub for surrounding communities.

With a restored and revitalized downtown, Bel Air offers a complement modern business complexes and bustling shopping malls.
